Re: Pelosi's fridges/the ice cream thing.

I'm guessing Pelosi staff PR people were in many ways involved in the making of that late-night TV segment. And that nothing about Pelosi's home furnishings struck them as exclusive or elite.
Also led me to think about "rich people taste" which is something I want to write about at some point. A lot of rich people assume the most expensive product in any category is the best one. There's a whole global microeconomy to milking this. Many hilarious examples.
If you to make sure your scam succeeds, target the upper-middle class. Applies to services, retail, politics, new religious movements. Core reader and viewer demographic also. Too much money and no good sense.
Anyway Pelosi's people have probably been struggling for -- what, two years? Or however long it's been -- to replicate AOC's home cooking show. This was a great chance to show "the real Nancy" and it never occurred to them that she's rich. Compared to her friends, she isn't!
I was also looking at how much fridges cost like two weeks ago because ours failed and I was worried that our landlord might not replace it quickly enough and maybe we should just do it ourselves and withhold rent. So I know you can get a perfectly adequate new fridge for $200.
Can we get something definitive on the price of the pictured units? I'm interested not only in the MSRP but in what Pelosi actually paid for them, and from which bank account. https://twitter.com/disco_socialist/status/1250537004388872192
