The pure and simple fact is that globalization has contributed to the lowering of prices of goods so as those goods can be more readily available to the average consumer.

The number of items that exist (on average) in people's homes now, that did not 100 years ago is gigantic. https://twitter.com/RealJamesWoods/status/1250546310232436737
I can hear the economically ignorant already "BUT DON, WE COULD BUILD IT OURSELVES", or in the words of Tucker Carlson "I don't need a cheaper iPhone". This is so fundamentally stupid it's hard to comprehend.

It isn't the iPhone you dolts, it's the pacemaker, BP test, etc.
The cheapening of goods (yes, including the iPhone) has reduced the prices of those goods as well. Turns out, it also reduced the price of fruits, vegetables, and even meat.

Could we produce all of these things with a strangled supply and more expensive regulatons and labor?
Of course we could. When Grandma can't afford her medicine, hip replacement, or life saving medical device, you'll be pissed. I'll be sitting here saying "Well, you asked for this".

Same for when Grandpa wants a pacemaker, but the increased cost of good priced him out.
"Oh, but Don, what about medicare!"

Great, we're 4 seconds in and the answer is already socialism.

I understand everyone wants to hate globalism. There's good reason to hate globalism. I also understand that any answer longer than 280 characters gets almost no engagement.
So let's just say it directly related to this, @RealJamesWoods is asking a question that will get halfway around the world before this thread gets its shoes on.
