Today's the biggest Jamiversary™️ of the year.

Q. What's your 3 favorite/best shows after Big Cypress?
A. Phil & Phriends Warfield 99

Q. But you even saw Phish NYE95
A. I did. My answer stands.

Q. What shows had the most importance/gravity of any you saw?
A. Same ones

1/9
2/9

Q. More than the Hampton comeback shows in 2009 or the MSG comeback on 12/31/02?
A. Easily. The hype/energy/magic/drama is so beyond anything else I've witnessed.

Q. I don't get it. I mean, the music is great, but those are strong words.
3/9

A. It was the first true meeting of Phish & the Dead. Phish spent so many years distancing themselves from the Dead that when this happened, it was hard to believe. It was just so damn powerful.

Q. Got a ranking for the shows?
A. 4/16 > 4/15 > 4/17.
4/9

Q. Why rank them that way?
A. 4/15 was very much Trey and Kimock feeling each other out. On 4/16, Trey metaphorically whipped out his cock and laid down a tape measure. 4/17 was brilliant, but more ethereal and Kimock's best show.

Q. So tell me more about this Kimock guy?
5/9

A. He's my second favorite guitarist. Up until these shows, he was known for shitting the bed in big moments. He's the guy everyone thought was the next Jerry, but never delivered in the spotlight. Yet something lit a fire under his ass for these shows, and he slayed.
6/9

Q. Second favorite? That's high praise.
A. There's just something about his tone and phrasing that melts me. For his best work, check out KVHW in 98-99 and Steve Kimock Band from July 2000 to June 2001.

Q. Ok, let's get right to it. Rank the jams.
7/9

A. Not sure I can. There's so many every set. If you need a place to start, the Viola Lee, Sugaree, Rolling>Rider, Help Slip Frank, Alligator & Terrapin.

Q. What about that Scarlet>Fire?
A. Ugh, I think Molo only knew the calypso version from The Other Ones. I blame Mickey.
8/9

Q. Ok, where can I find these shows to hear them?
A. Look on Relisten or the Archive. I'd suggest going with the 24 track master versions for a source.

Q. Got any fun anecdotes before we close out this way-too-long tweet storm?
9/9

A. This was 4 years after Jerry died. Crowd was at least half deadheads who didn't think Trey was worthy of being there. It all changed mid-Alligator when every deadhead I saw became a believer. Will never forget that moment.
