March 16: Germany begins lockdown. UK is seven days later.

March 23: German testing capacity over 100,000 daily. UK hasn't reached 10,000.
Germany's completed 1.7 million tests. UK fewer than 400,000.

Germany started with 621 acute care beds per 100,000. In the UK it was 228 beds.

Germany's death rate: 2.5% per 100 confirmed virus cases. 12.8% in UK.

Over 3,200 German deaths reported. Almost 13,000 In UK.
