I just unearthed a forgotten memory. In 6th grade, I had a friend who told me his dad was the director of the 1973 exploitation film GATOR BAIT. He mentioned a couple other films, too, but that's the one I remember.
My friend's father was not, as it turns out, the wife-and-husband team of Beverly and Ferd Sebastian, which is who actually did direct GATOR BAIT. My friend's dad was a very old Mexican man. But we didn't have IMDb in those days, so I believed him.
I wonder: Had my friend somehow seen GATOR BAIT (this was 1985/86), been fascinated by it, and come up with the fiction? Had his dad actually been in the movie industry in some capacity at some point? Had his dad TOLD him he directed movies?
Anyway, Sydney Williams, if you're out there: I enjoyed being friends with you in sixth grade, and I hope you're not still a dirty, dirty liar.
