I didn't get a chance to write this up yesterday, but I had my first encounter with a Bee Swarm 🐝🐝🐝

A bee swarm you say?
I went on a break while working from home and my wife said, "Hey look at that big cloud of gnats out in the street. Weird."

I went to the window and was like 💩 those are not gnats.
Here is what I saw when I looked out the window 😬😬😬
Here's the wonderful sound I *heard* when I opened the screened window...
You can clearly see them all loose in these first few pictures and videos, but within minutes they started congregating on a bush in our yard.

One of them didn't get the memo and was just hanging out in our vegetable garden tho 😁
Here's a video of the congregating in action. 🐝➡️⬅️🐝
At this point I don't know what exactly to do, but I don't want to just call an exterminator on these lil bees bein bees. I recalled a conversation on Nextdoor about someone offering to relocate bees.
After searching "bees" on nextdoor, I came across a neighbor who just last week posted that it was "bee swarm season," which for some reason, on top of the actual pandemic, was just like
BUT said neighbor was also a hobby beekeeper and offered to take the bees off our hands. Bee relocation in action:
He explained that all of this is some Circle of Life stuff where the bee colony gets too big for their current hive, expands in the spring, and splits into two groups. What we were witnessing was the second group out on their own looking for a new hive to occupy!
Today, our friendly neighbor texted me thanking us again for giving him the opportunity to grab all those bees, and offered us some of his last year's honey as a thank you. I believe this is what they call an actual win-win.
plot twist: I also have a fatal bee allergy and carry an epipen for just such an occasion ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
