The thing is...some of these fic writers (mainly talking about the older ones), have been in the game for a long, long time. Probably all the way back to the Livejournal days, but certainly Tumblr and whatever was in between the two. They’ve hopped from fandom to fandom

and atm the Tannies have caught their eye. They cannot remove fic writing from their fandom experience, because it is the totality of their fandom experience. That’s what they’re here for. And when inspiration dries up again, they’ll move on to the next thing. The art BTS creates

is really of no consequence to them, because all these ppl are here for is fic fodder. That’s why you’ll see them go wild over a Run ep but say nothing about a song release. They see BTS as characters bc they have no other frame of reference. The characters are all they know.

And tbh they’re used to this lifestyle bc, well...very few other fandoms would challenge it quite like ARMYs do. They’re used to receiving praise and cultivating their own little circle of fans for doing/saying this sht, which is why it seems they’re willing to d1e on this hill.
