RM fans often laughs at any kinda Alba-Marcelo comparisons and then shamefully clowns Marcelo(An all time great) saying that Ramos had to cover for him. Pique has been covering for Roberto (Makeshift RB) and Alba whom they considers much inferior to Marcelo for 5 years

Keep in mind that post Puyol's decline with his knee surgery and Masche getting habituated in to his new role Pique was the glue to the defense. Pep played 343 in his final season and then Barca had different managers in which Pique partnered with 5 different CBs

Piqué since he joined Barca partnered with Puyol who was past his prime and had multiple knee injuries post 2011. He never played with a world class CB of Pepe and Varane's calibre. Love Mascherano, but he wasn't a better CB than Pepe or Varane.

Then came Umtiti who had only 1 good season with us. After that his knee collapsed and Pique had to hold our defense with Vermalean who was well past his prime and that duo kept a cleen sheet against Madrid's double winning team in Bernabeu(Not a big game, since its not in CL)

conceding 4 against Liverpool and Roma is Pique's fault but getting clowned in classicos by 4, 5, 3 goals margin is because Ramos had to cover for one of the best LBs of all time, meanwhile Pique was keeping cleensheets with a makeshift Rb and Vermalean in defense.

Again Pique had to play with a new partner (Lenglet) who isn't world class yet and carried our defense with a knee injury. Keep in mind that Valverde never benched him throughout the season because we didn't had a replacement. All this to get clowned because of recency bias

At 22 years of age he started a CL final with two of his starting fullbacks suspended and partnered with Yaya who wasn't a regular CB, against one of the best club side of modern era. Ramos was yet to play in a CL semi final in 2009. Who cares only post 2014 football matters

Its not as if Ramos has won 10 more CLs than him. Both Ramos and Pique has same number of CL titles (Ramos has one more as a starter) but Pique has twice the number of domestic titles which demands consistency over 38 match days. Who cares again, only post 2014 CL matters

Rm fans always blame the system& structure for Ramos's defensive lapses. Look at all the RM managers that he played for; Capello, Pellegrini, Jose, Ancelotti, Benitez, Zidane (Student of Marcelo Lippi school of defense). 5/6 managers had CL/league title pedigree outside RM

Pique is yet to play under a manager who has won major titles outside Barca apart from Pep. Blame all the system that you wants, but then clowning Pique because the entire defense failed, makes you hypocrites of highest order
