Cleared all of my queerness-and-Christianity books from my wishlist because I don’t think I’m interested in building an arsenal for the “I can be both” argument anymore.
Either you’re going to take me at my word when I say I’m both (& kind of a witch sometimes too) or you aren’t. If you need me to provide a bibliography to justify my own experience, then we’re both wasting our time.
I still love these books. I’ll still read them. But I’m tired of accumulating piles & piles of books, trying to craft the perfect argument when the folks asking me to make it are 1000% intent on proving me wrong. I’m over it.
I will still fight like hell for my queer siblings’ right to have space in the church, but like... I’m not interested in fighting anyone else to make them make that space anymore?
Like, if you were gonna give us a place at your table, you would have fucking done it. We’re done with your goddamn scraps, catch us feasting at the tables of quings.
