JUST IN: 11 Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy vessels "repeatedly conducted dangerous and harassing approaches" of six U.S. warships operating n the international waters of the North Arabian Gulf, according to @CENTCOM.

According to US, the IRGC vessels repeatedly came at close range & high speeds of the US ships--at one point sweeping w/in 10 yards of a Coast Guard cutter. US crews issued "multiple warnings" via radio, ship horns, but "received no response" from Iranian mil, @CENTCOM says.

More from @CENTCOM: "After approximately one hour, the IRGCN vessels responded to the bridge-to-bridge radio queries, then maneuvered away from the U.S. ships and opened distance between them."
