A couple days ago I made a picture that has been shared a *few* times on Twitter. 1/5
I didn’t post it on Twitter, but several people have found it and tweeted it out. Cool cool. This is the Internet, things get shared all the time by those other than the original creator. 2/5
But then this crazy thing happened: People made sure that I got credited with the image. If somebody posted it, and didn’t @ me, somebody usually replied with my handle. People credited where I work ( @DispatchAlerts) and shared our stories in threads and replies. 3/5
People of the Internet, I am so grateful for your recognizing and crediting of work. Photographers work *hard* y’all, and it hurts to see your hard work repurposed and uncredited, or taken from a platform and published with no payment. 4/5
So let’s make this a thing. If you share an image, please credit the photographer. Heck, if you share anything, give credit where credit is due.

Carry on Internet, and thanks for being awesome today! 5/5
Oh, and one more thing...
Subscribe to your local newspaper. There are countless journalists working hard right now, putting themselves at risk, to bring you factual information.
Many of us have lost jobs in the last few years. Many are taking unpaid furloughs or pay cuts right now, myself included. We work in the public interest, but we can’t do that without your support. So if you already subscribe, thanks. If not, well...
