A Governor’s son threatened someone’s mother with gangrape. His own mum (the First Lady) endorsed that threat (she has now apologised)

A young journalist did a story condemning the Governor’s wife.
Today, that young journalist has now been sacked.

This is Nigeria. What a shame.

The young journalist’s name is OtosiriEze Obi-Young. He worked with Brittle Paper as deputy editor.

He condemned a First Lady who was defending his son’s threat to gangrape someone’s mother over a twitter argument.

This journalist has been sacked.
What sort of country is this?

According to @Otosirieze the journalist, he was criticised by the Founder of Brittle Newspaper about the article.

He was made to edit the article
He was made to rewrite it.
But this was not enough.

They took down his story.

The EditorinChief/Founder of Brittle Newspaper is a woman. Not just a woman- but a “feminism” teacher according to her twitter page.

And this same person just sacked a man for attacking gender-based violence targeting women.

What a shame.

Anyway, some of us can only lament and wish we had a better country where true freedoms- of speech and other human freedoms- will not be a mirage but a reality.

Because a situation where journalists lose their jobs and livelihoods is completely abhorrent.

This is very very sad.
