As I study a bit of the PRC back story (including Australians part of the POW Olympics 1952) things look awfully similar to today. Eisenhower created the Code of Conduct so we'd have a compass to guide us through the disinformation onslaught. Here's a link to the original (or at least very early edition) of the U.S. Army's 1956 Code of Conduct training. It's about indoctrination, propaganda, and disinformation. The website is "State University Libraries of Florida" so it appears legit.

The document is awfully dry... but as it describes propaganda, I've always thought "who would fall for that?" But now it's obvious... people all around us do, and we can see the same techniques described 60+ years ago.
