Listening to two people talk about why some colleagues won't turn on their camera during video calls. I would prefer that to what I've seen over the years because nothing fries my wires more than people who spend entire meetings totally ignoring the actual meeting. If I ever
owned a biz where video calls were a regular occurrence, I would write it right into the company manual that internet surfing, watching tv, doing other work, playing on your phone, etc is a fireable offense. I would dearly love to pop quiz people out of the blue during meetings.
On the last day of work before I retire and move to Crone Island, no matter where it is or who it's for, I'm going to end my final call with, "you aren't as subtle as you think you are." Everyone has their pet peeves. I'm sure I annoy people b/c I twist in my chair, though I'm
trying to knock it off because it's probably annoying. I've even declined to give a reference for someone who habitually ignored meetings they attended b/c I figure if you can't act professional when you know people can see you, what are you like when they can't?
