Citizen TV accepted that they had wrongfully described Pombe Magufuli's fight against COVID-19 and will now run an apology to the Tanzania president for one week.

The apology that was aired on the station on 14th April attested that it had reported the strategies that the Tanzanian Government was using to combat COVID-19 using the wrong words.

Magufuli after this incident switched off the viewing of Citizen TV on Tanzania forcing the station to run the apology for one week. Magufuli had received criticism after he failed to shut down places of worship but did so for all the learning institutions.
