THREAD: Monday was @CheeseMcr's birthday and I wanted to make sure we could celebrate with some decent food and drink. I figured it was worth compiling a list of places delivering in Manchester (and some beyond) as it's not clear which companies do. Here are the places I found:
. @ScrattingsCC are a craft cider shop in Somerset and deliver UK-wide. Their 12-bottle mystery boxes made a perfect gift and, with a little direction on style, they'll tailor to the recipient's tastes. Delivery took a few days. https://www.scrattingscraftcidershop.co.uk/
. @nibble_nq is a Northern Quarter cafe and they're delivering meals, coffee, cakes and basic provisions (who knew there was vegan black pudding!) twice a week. Perfect fare for a hamper or just for a lunch treat. The cakes and scones were great! https://www.facebook.com/nibblenq/photos/a.420338208062322/2955826237846827/?type=3&theater
. @pastaevangelist are a UK delivery service for fresh pasta meals; they offer subscriptions and have introduced care packages aimed at giving isolated friends and relatives a few nice meals. The pasta itself was tasty and easy to prepare. https://pastaevangelists.com/products/box
. @Pippyeats_ is a noodle connoisseur and offers cooking workshops. She also prepares meal kits for delivery in Manchester (and beyond) every few weeks; demand is super high and we sadly missed out on this last week. Keep an eye on her Instagram for updates https://pippyeats.com/vouchers/
. @cloudwaterbrew are a Manchester brewery and still delivering their vast beer range in this crisis. They really caught my attention when they ran a curry club catering to parts of South Manchester with 4 cans of Helles and two curries for £20. Bargain! https://shop.cloudwaterbrew.co/
. @Lupo_Caffe is a Salford-based cafe in normal times but are currently delivering veg boxes with doughnuts or Tiramisu as bonus treats. The box has enough veg to last a week and, despite my limited capacity to taste at the time, the desserts are delicious! https://www.facebook.com/LupoCaffeItaliano/
. @CreamlineDairy deliver milk, dairy and groceries to Manchester and have been delivering our milk and eggs for a while now. They're still going strong during all this too! https://www.creamline.co.uk/
. @barbakan_deli, a Chorlton-based deli, have great bread, other baked goods and plenty on the deli counter. They deliver locally only so you need to be close to Chorlton to benefit from that service. They have flour too, which I hear is in demand! https://www.barbakan-deli.co.uk/
Oh and obviously there are plenty of takeaway places delivering, but I couldn't compile a list like this without a shoutout to my favourite curry restaurant in Manchester, @GurkhaGrill in West Didsbury. Still delivering in the local area and still amazing! https://www.thegurkhagrill.co.uk/
A special shout out to Tibetan Kitchen, on the border of Chorlton and Whalley Range. Their meals are fantastic, especially their Momos! They only offer collections as normal, but in addition provide free meals to the vulnerable who are isolating. Good guys https://www.facebook.com/Tibetan-Kitchen-95819655814/
Totally forgot @wintertarn who have been keeping @CheeseMcr supplied with plenty of excellent bread and cheese during quarantine. They definitely offer deliveries but I’m not totally sure the area they cover.
