I& #39;ve seen a few different people posting that they& #39;re looking for suggestions about places to donate now that they& #39;ve gotten their stimulus money. A couple different suggestions I& #39;d have, if you happen to be in this position....
First, food banks. We& #39;ve all seen the lines - there& #39;s SO much food insecurity, and I guarantee that your community has a food bank that could make good use of your donation. Locally, I& #39;ve donated to https://mdfoodbank.org/ ">https://mdfoodbank.org/">...
Diaper banks are another incredible way to help out your community. Can you imagine being a parent and not being able to afford diapers, wipes, or formula for your baby? That& #39;s why I donate to @dcdiaperbank
Domestic violence has spiked with the stay at home orders during the pandemic. For those who home isn& #39;t a safe place, make sure there are options. @DC_SAFE is a great one in DC, but find one in your communtiy
You know whose hit incredibly hard by all of this? Undocumented folks who aren& #39;t eligible for the stimulus. Many are on the front lines, yet cannot get the financial support (or other help) they need.
Last but not least, if you& #39;re able, take care of your community. I& #39;m sure if you look around, there are charities and nonprofits who are working to make sure that the most vulnerable among us have food, housing, and safety. Give them your $$ as you& #39;re able.
