We cannot deny that we live in a patriarchal society. We cannot deny that there exists a feudal and bourgeois view of women. More importantly, we cannot deny the fact that there is a bigger problem (IPBK) as to why women are oppressed.

Another question: why must the way a girl dresses serve as protection for her? Why don’t we call out the people who blatantly disrespect a person REGARDLESS of what they are wearing?

Correct! Whether a girl chooses to be conservative or not, nasa kanya na yun. And we should respect that.
But in the tiktok video, it was directly implied that she zipped up because her boyfriend would rather have it that way. (Notice how he shook his hand and brought her away)

To say that we are merely overthinking that action also in a way romanticizes how this society has oppressed women and continues to oppress women. It urges women to think that you are just putting things out of proportion.

Point of clarification: wala akong pake kung mas nagkaroon sila ng opportunities to grow as influencers nung naging sila. Good for them! Get that bread.
Point is to be careful with what they post KNOWING they have a wide audience! Esp if it perpetuates oppressive practices.
