Hello! I& #39;m looking to find some great projects while I& #39;m home with lots (and lots) of reading time. Here& #39;s a quick #MSWL rundown: a thread.
#MSWL - MIDDLE GRADE. Any and all middle grade! I am hungry for it: standalone contemporary, sweeping fantasy series, sci-fi, horror, you name it. I’d love something high concept, like CITY OF EMBER, NEVERMOOR, ARU SHAH & THE END OF TIME, etc.
#MSWL - middle grade or YA graphic novel series, whether contemporary, contemporary with a twist of magic, or fantasy. Especially would love to find a great contemporary series with a great concept.
#MSWL - Smart, commercial YA thrillers & mysteries! Think Tiffany Jackson, Karen McManus, E. Lockhart. Also, YA horror! I’d love something like MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, with a good speculative twist.
#MSWL - Anything that feels high concept and cinematic in YA, whether it’s sci-fi, fantasy, or contemporary with a speculative twist. Stories with big “what if” premises.
#MSWL - vampires, werewolves, oh my! I’d love some great paranormal, something sweeping and wonderful, or something exploring the every day angst of being a teenager. I’m ready for it!
#MSWL - YA rom coms and love stories!
#MSWL - middle grade exploring crushes, loves, and heartbreak. My heart was pretty much constantly being broken in 6th grade. Let’s talk about it.
#MSWL - books where the setting & premise are woven together. A rambling hotel or estate (I& #39;m looking at you, @EBain!), a small town with secrets, a cruise ship, a sprawling library, a museum (would love a MIXED UP FILES or a NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM type book) etc.
