This is real confusing to me for a couple different reasons.. https://twitter.com/thegunzshow/status/1250425323532902400
1) The obvious: hockey rinks need to be kept at much colder temps in the summer.

Every year come playoff time we hear NHL players complain that the ice STINKS. That’s normally late spring/early summer months. Now we’re talking June/July? Maybe even August? Keep dreaming.
If the stellar (and well funded) @tdgarden crew have a hard time keeping the ice frozen and the players happy, how do you think an organization like the Panthers will fare?
Are they planning on neutral sites in cold cities? In that case say goodbye to home playoff crowds, which are some of the best in sports.

And if they did that for some teams, they’d have to for all. Regardless of location. Right?

Shitty.
2) maybe a little less obvious - aren’t all of these arenas used for other events like trade shows and concerts and the circus? And last I heard there are still about 10+ that share their arena with an NBA team?

Yea. Good luck scheduling all that out.
These owners are more than happy to lock out entire seasons in order to save a few extra bucks in player salary, but only if they get to prepare for it ahead of time and all their finances are in order.
But as soon as you put (ONE OF) their revenue streams on the line? With no warning & no lawyer-ing or accounting their way out of it to ensure they come out unscathed?

Now we have to watch them put the health and safety of thousands of people at risk. It’s fun stuff I tell ya..

My anger & this thread passed the 5ish minutes I needed to kill before this webinar started... so there’s that?
