We are 5 days into the #IndivisibleCensus and, while data keep pouring in, here are some preliminary analyses based on the first 13,000 responses (that puts the response rate at just about 3% FYI).
Here's a map of where #Indivisibles live. This map specifically shows the states with the highest number of zip codes reported-- the number is a count of zip codes within the states that have at least 6 respondents (for more details on this image, email or DM me):
In the past year, #Indivisibles reported participating in a number of political activities with the organization, including signing a petition (83%), donating money (61%), and endorsing a candidate (51%)
More generally, these folks report very high levels of #CivicEngagement. In the past year: 89% contacted an elected official, 58% participated in a #protest, and 51% had attended at Town Hall Meeting
I still have to dig in how participation is changing specifically due to the #COVID19 but, so far, about half of the participants in the #IndivisibleCensus report that their #political work has not changed much as they were mostly doing their work online.
About 11% report that they have put their #activism on pause while they deal with the #COVID19Pandemic. Stay tuned for more findings once we have more data. For anyone who has yet to participate in the #IndivisibleCensus, please participate and #GetCounted!
