I disagree w/ @BernieSanders that it's "irresponsible" not 2 vote for @JoeBiden. At a time when already historic inequality, poverty, and CORRUPTION are skyrocketing via Coronavirus, accepting the neoliberal status quo w/ out even the hint of REAL SYSTEMIC change is irresponsible
We will never get real change if the Dem Party knows it can continually provide corporatist crumbs with accompanying progressive language yet still get our votes. We're nearing 20 million laid off/without healthcare and the Dem Party proposal is to expand....COBRA! Are you..
fucking kidding me? We have multi-billion dollar corporate conglomerates getting no-strings attached bailouts because @SpeakerPelosi and @SenSchumer w/ @JoeBiden cheering it on allowed it! (and Bernie voted for it). And let's not kid ourselves...like 2008, majority of companies..
Make no mistake about it--Donald Trump is an unprecedented threat. But, a greater threat is doing the same thing over and over and over again (voting for the less toxic candidate) and expecting real systemic change to ever come. Voting for Biden is really voting for potentially..
12 years of neoliberalism (Biden does not look likely to serve 2 terms, paving the way for President @KamalaHarris or @amyklobuchar). I'm sorry--but the continuation of the corporate neoliberal status quo is ALSO a threat. I've reported all over this country for 5 years in 35+...
states....the pain, and suffering, and CORRUPTION I see that will never be shown on @cnn @msnbc or in the @nytimes @washingtonpost is not going to change with @JoeBiden. If he wants my vote, he needs to do more than offer crumbs to progressives or "policy working groups"...
and as much as I respect @BernieSanders, he needs to realize by bending the knee with no real concessions or exerting any leverage, he is doing what he was hoping not to...helping to reelect Trump. What he is doing now--participating in hostage videos w/ Biden--is not going to..
excite young people or Latinos. Only Biden can do that---by offering REAL policies that will help the working class. I, nor you, owe him your vote. If Dems are so sure that these moderate/right-wing positions are what the majority of Americans want, then good luck to them in..
November. They can roll the dice that that will be enough to beat Trump.
And for the chorus of folks who will shout "privilege" and all that toward me (ironically most of whom are doing incredibly well themselves). You're shouting in the wrong direction...maybe you should be lighting a fire under Biden to do more to convince voters through POLICY
