Yes being overweight is a cause for a lot of illness but also conversely a lot of conditions do cause people to be overweight or unable to successfully lose weight.
I have gotten in an argument with a healthcare professional who said if a patient would “stop carrying all that weight around maybe her back wouldn’t hurt so much”.

You cannot equate skinny shaming to fat shaming. Because while your hurt feelings are valid most times it doesn’t translate into real life consequences.
