I remember opening that one expecting an actual funny story about a girl in love with Darth Vader, and hah, they were very clear in their message. Boring and truly shitty writing, mocking romance novels and women’s desires and women’s media in every form.

I love the framing implication in that story that she’s crazy because he’s *ugly* like..... fuck you, love is not about beauty. Shallow shits. It’s beautiful to love despite appearances. That’s a virtue. She should be rewarded with her life because her heart holds love.

And the rest of the comic describes that she loves him because thinking about him makes her feel safer and more in control and powerful and brave, which is exactly how fans feel about their favorite characters. I’m still so mad at the cruelty here.
