When they're about to bring up something that pains them, we pan to their feet. And then when they finish saying it, #Cloud's expression and silence confirm their words.

In T's case, it's that the Flower came from Aerith and that it's importance resides in that exchange. And Cloud confirms this with his reaction.

In Aerith's, it's that Cloud shouldn't fall for her. And Cloud again confirms that she's caught him red-handed with his expression.

The way they parallel each other shows they are meant to convey the same feeling.

And to further confirm this, we are shown both with knowing, sad expressions after witnessing Cloud's reaction.

He has developed feelings for Aerith, and both girls are aware of this.
