'Chasing in the Wild' appreciation post: a thread

@4reuminct @gwyomi
It's honestly one of the best stories I have ever read.
At first, I thought it was just one of those cliché & common stories I used to read.

But no, it was far from what I have expected.
The way how the author managed to attach the reality into the fictional world was superbbb
We, the readers, uses fictional world to temporarily escape the sad & cruel reality. We somewhat don't want a realistic story, because that wouldn't satisfy us.

But boi, I was wrong. It even exceeded my expectations.
Yeah, at first, it was light. It wasn't that heavy. A cheerleader and a captain's story. When you will first hear it, you would say that it would be a typical story. But no, there was something deeper in it.
The way Sevi was created was just pure magical. The way he influenced Elyse to grow without changing her, the way he reminds Elyse na magmano, the way he loves Elyse the way she is was superb.
But that's not all, the way Sevi stood up even without money taught us that not everything revolves around money.
The way Sevi splits the payment, how he does not try to buy expensive gifts just to impress a girl, how he values & prioritize his family, how he strived hard to be a better man for his fam & Elyse speaks a lot in being a Filipino.
Sevu did not need money, because his efforts were more than enough.
From being a one call away & trustworthy friend, to being a role model sibling, to being a responsible son, and to being a respectful & loving boyfriend.
He fights for Elyse, he did everything for Elyse. Marupok na kung marupok. Although he was afraid to try again, he still took the risk just to be with Elyse.
Elyse, on the other hand, can be a girl who you can judge easily. Because only people who are close to her can see who she really is behind that maarte & spoiled Elyse.
She wasn't that mature, but she was really trying to be the best version of herself.
She was really sweet & supportive. Behind her maarte & spoiled facade, there's an Elyse who has a big & pure heart.
No wonder why Sevi fell inlove with her deep. She's not hard to love. She's not afraid to do what she think is right, and she will fight for it.
She can be even selfless at times. And the way she treats the people working for her was superb. From Kuya Roel to Alice. Although she don't really have much friends, she treated those who are close to her as her family.
Even when she loved her Dad very much, she was still not blinded by her father's wrong doings. She still stood up with what is right.
And that's more than enough to see how beautiful Elyse's and Sevi's heart are.
Y'all now wonder how reality was attached to the story? Well...
When they broke up, I can't imagine how hard it was. 5 freaking years, and poof. Wala na.
It really taught us that no matter how long & okay your relationship can be there will always be a point wherein it's more better to part ways than to stay. Sad reality, but that's just how it really works.
Both individuals in a relationship should grow, even if it means growing apart.
But imagine how hard it can be? Your daily lives revolved around her, then suddenly, wala na lang bigla? Damn
