I want a federal law that would mandate upping provincial disability and other income supports up to the level of CERB. I would like $2000 a month to be the new baseline for every Canadian.
Note - I do not mean cutting cheques for those that make over $2000 a month, but topping it up for those that don't.
Also needed would be a minimum wage provision to ensure employers don't just let the government top up their employee's pay for them.
I'm not sure how such a law would work or how it would interface with provincial structures.... worthy of discussion I think!
