2. we've seen excellent, in-depth reporting on *what* went wrong and how Trump ignored every conceivable public health and nat'l security warning all winter.
Left unexamined—why?

3. some of the coverage tries to explain the unprecedented action of refusing to protect the public, claiming Trump was "slow" to see warnings, there was WH "infighting" etc.

4. but that simply does not explain the totality of the administration's failure. Incompetence like this doesn't just happen. Takes lot of work to screw up this badly.

5. Trump ordered the gov't to stand down for virus invasion and we still don’t know why.
