1/ Some reflections on #NYC #COVID19 #mortality #data through April 13th #NewYork #pandemic - tl;dr – total NYC #deathtoll to date is probably already ~15,000 accounting for both deaths at home and unexplained excess mortality

2/ Would be bad enough if “only” ~8,000 ( #NYS figure) or ~12,000 (NYS + ~4,000 deaths at home) in #NYC to date from #COVID19, but what about unexplained excess mortality?

3/ Only by making a proper accounting of the harm (and death) caused by this disease can we have accountability for elected officials and others as we chart a path forward

4/ If ~0.2% of NYC’s population has already died from COVID-19, we know w/reasonable confidence that this #disease is (much) more deadly than the #seasonalflu, just to revisit an old #lie that still keeps getting rolled out...

5/ Based on data from recent @nytimes piece on birth during the pandemic at #Brooklyn Hospital (and do check out the petition! Will link at end of thread)

7/ ... I estimate that ~20% of NYC residents have already been infected w/SARS-CoV-2 (though that’s a very ballpark figure!)
