Hey folks: I’ve been doing some reading on the stimulus check thing! If you are a freelancer/self-employed person who filled out a 1040 form in 2018 or 2019, and you still owe taxes, your stimulus check should be applied toward that by the IRS rather than sent to you!

This stimulus is technically a “tax return”....it’s advanced tax rebate, not just a random check from the government. If you owe money through taxes, it should be applied there...someday

This is how I think it works, anyway. It’s all pretty confusing! But my eligibility is “unknown” presumably because I still owe money to the IRS

I was hoping to put this toward my wedding but HONESTLY I still owe a substantial amount on my taxes so you know what, I’m fine with it
