I try to give our city manager and council a bit of slack, but this morning I can't. The schizophrenic nature of their actions is so disturbing. (exceptions noted for @rachelkfriend and @AaronBrockett12 All in the paper this morning:
* Our Open Space trails are too crowded. // No, we can’t turn over ANY street space for people to recreate.

* We want you to be healthy and fight Covid-19 // Stay home and stay inside. (This in spite of every order encouraging well spaced outdoor recreation).
* Paint will protect cyclists, they don’t need physical protection. // A barricade at an intersection with signage will not protect people in the street. This situation is too dangerous and would expose us to litigation.
We don’t have the money (low thousands of dollars) for barricade rentals for a couple of months. // We want to study 20 MPH speed limits in Boulder and spend over $100K because Boulder is special and we can’t use the data that other cities have collected.
* We must furlough more than 700 city workers due to budget woes. // We will find millions in our budget to carry on with Muni litigation. (They know that if they asked the voters now for the money - they would lose.)
