Last night, I was finishing up a chart on the ambulance. I checked my email and found out that my M.D. would be conferred today. The block exploded with applause.

It was 7pm in NYC.

I don’t get to have a #MedSchool graduation, but I will never forget that moment.
Of course no med school graduation is complete without a photo in a gown and a ridiculous hat.
I’m so proud of my classmates graduating early to start working as interns at our hospital.

I’ve decided for personal and financial reasons to keep working as a paramedic until I move out west to start residency.

(Sad commentary on what new doctors get paid, I know).
I’ve always dreamed of being a prehospital physician. I just never expected that I’d be on duty on an ambulance when I earned my M.D.
