So, the review embargo for the PC Engine CoreGrafx Mini (the EU version of the PC Engine Mini and TurboGrafx-16 Mini) has just lifted, and I was going to have a review ready before I ended up iller than a Wu-Tang cypher.

So here are my brief thoughts, with a full review to come.
In case you don't already know, there are a shit-ton of games in this thing. Some of them are TurboGrafx-16 games (i.e. American releases) and others are PC Engine ones (i.e. Japanese releases). Only a few of the Japanese ones are unplayable if you don't speak the language.
Here's what you get in the box: console, HDMI lead, USB power cable (but not a plug), manual and one controller. One thing to note: because the EU one isn't based on the original PC Engine and instead the CoreGrafx revamp, that means you get a turbo controller (unlike in Japan)
The controller is spot on: here's how it compares to the actual controller I have with my Japanese PC Engine Duo R console. That's reflections on the buttons, by the way, not a weird cracked/cobweb design.
Game-wise, everything runs brilliantly, so happy with it all. There were worries that the two hidden games in the Japanese version wouldn't be here because they were unlocked via a game that isn't in the EU system: they're still in here, they just unlock via Salamander instead.
That's it for now: when I'm better I'll have a full, far more detailed review on the site, as well as one of my trademark videos breaking down every single game on the system. Until then, if you're curious, you can get it on Amazon here (affiliate link): https://amzn.to/2yh4lts
Really gutted I couldn't get this review posted today, but I have to focus on making sure I'm on the mend. I certainly can't record the voiceover for the video just now, for example. Fingers crossed I can have the full thing ready for you next week, who knows ❤️
