Easter holiday reporting effects have now been ironed out and here are the English death data by day of occurrence.
There were 771 deaths for the 7th. This is now reliable & will will go up only very slightly as more data comes through.
From the 7th April deaths decline. The next highest day looks like being the 11th for which 637 deaths reported so far. That figure will go up by more than that for the 7th, but unless a serious error comes to light, it cannot come close to 771.
In other words, deaths peaked on Weds 7th April.

Of course it is possible that there will be another surge and another higher peak later on but recent declines hospitalisations make that unlikely in the near future.
Deaths by day of occurrence are not published for Scotland, NI or Wales, but the relative size of England mean the picture will be very similar for the UK.
Too early to say if we are now on a plateau beneath the peak or if deaths are steadily declining but we can now be clear that Coronavirus deaths peaked a week ago today.
