Unfollowing people complaining about the quarantining/social distancing measures this morning.
If your follower count drops by one, that's me.

It's not the distancing protocols and shutdowns that are the problem; it's the lack of action from federal governing body that exacerbates the cracks in the system that up until recently affected mostly the oft-ignored poor/minority communities.
Imagine if the bulk of 2T "stimulus" package went to the people in the form of recurring payments.
Imagine if the mortgages, rent, and debt payments were suspended.
Staying at home for some months isn't so unmanageable now.

Imagine if we had a medical care system like every other fucking first world/industrialized nation.
Imagine if the executive branch reacted sooner or at least took the lead when it finally decided to act.

Imangi if we had a president who's first thought wasn't one of dismissiveness and whose second thought wasn't one of crisis exploitation.
Imagine there wasn't a party whose elected officials at every level weren't sycophantic idiots of said president.

The stresses you feel are a direct result of a bad situation made worse by a lack of federal competency.
Instead of focusing outrage there, you complain about "overreacting" and the unsustainability of state/city level recommendations (made with ZERO federal guidance).

Small government doesn't work on a national level (or at all for that matter). It's a big fucking country. It needs a big fucking government.
So, miss me with that "how much longer do they expect us to X" bullshit.
Conservatives are out there further eroding voting and reproductive rights and shoving tax dollars into the pockets of the 1% while allowing a pandemic to spread unchecked.

But you want to go to a fucking festival in October, and since you can't, you have to lash out at a mayor.
Fix your damn face and get your priorities straight.
Schools won't be open in August. Sports and fall/winter festivals won't happen.

And the elevated hardships that come out of this could be alleviated or at least mitigated with a sizable federal response.
If/when that response doesn't come, that's where the ire needs to be directed.
