I was too tired to talk about the eva stuff last night but just because a theme is common within a medium doesnt mean that one show didnt do it better then others.

Ignoring that most series were inspired by eva and thats why the themes are common, if you look at it in a broad sense the things it talks about arent new but the amount of depth and its process of going into them is on a different level compared to 99% of the medium.
