okay I have energy so I’ll post a thread of my favorite asian dramas that I think everyone should watch!
1st drama I’ll mention is the classic

Goblin

Amazing cast (GONG YOO, and the amazing chemistry between Lee dong Wook and yoo in na, Kim go eun, and kim so hyun who shines with very few scenes), amazing production and writing - just the best example of a kdrama
My fav scene -
forreal the writing is amazing
plus goblin has me really wanting to travel to all the filming spots ❤️
Next drama - another classic

Boy over Flowers (2009)

I’m not sure how to say this it’s corny but somehow just so addicting. I would call it the basic manual of asian drama (school) rom-coms. No wonder the story has been remade at least 4 times (2x China, 1x japan, 1x korea)
And the 2nd couple in Boys over Flowers that didn’t get enough screen time but really should have (literally this love team needs to reunite)

Kim Bum - Kim So Eun !

(I might’ve stanned their love story more than the main couple)
Since I mentioned Boys over Flowers

Meteor Garden (2018)
every version has had an amazing F4
Don’t worry tho the skeleton is the same Meteor Garden (2018) is not the same story
It’s addicting in its own right!
Shen YuexDylan Wang might be the best couple pairing of them all!
Next

City Hunter (2011)

Honestly an amazing follow up for Lee Min Ho to Boys over Flowers (2009)!
It’s an amazing mix of action and romance. Key is the chemistry between Lee Min ho and Park Min Young!
Park Min Young is in a lot of kdrama classics and she’s always showcased amazing chemistry with her costars
Her specialty is definitely rom-coms but I think she’s finally able to start exploring different genres
She’s not my fav kdrama actress but can’t deny her influence
Next Park Min Young drama

Healer (2014)

Honestly it’s a lot like City Hunter due to its very good mixture of action and romance it just has the added layer of more political drama than city Hunter.
key is the chemistry between Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young!
Next Park Min Young drama

Probably the start of her rom com prominence

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim

Instantly lovable with an added mystery/thriller factor to keep you hooked on the story. Park Min Young displayed amazing chemistry with Park Seo Joon!
Next Park Min Young drama

Continuing her rom com reign

Her Private Life

Honestly the highlight of this drama is how much one can relate to the main character! She’s a kpop fan and we can all relate!
The current park Min Young drama I’m into

I’ll go to you when the weather is nice

It starts slow but if you hold on the great writing of the drama really starts to shine. It has moments of comedy within the drama/romance. I would say it’s not a drama for a beginner watcher !
Another classic kdrama university romcom

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

Ultimately such a cute story that has the best romantic moments! It’s a drama I got back to often even tho I’m now out of school!
#NamLee couple is LOVE ❤️!
Next

The Light In Your Eyes (2019)

Honestly I’ll be the first to say the drama is pretty slow moving for the most part but I recommend to just hold on to the end. The end is what makes this drama so well written and well produced and the amazing acting shines!
Another amazing drama of Han Ji Min

I thoroughly enjoyed

Familiar Wife (2018)

The drama takes you on twists and turns and altho it seems at first a story about the breakup of marriage in supernatural circumstances, it rather is a story about the strength of true love ❤️
You can’t mention a drama of Ji Sung without mentioning

Kill Me, Heal Me

Really Ji Sung’s acting prowess shines in this drama. He has the ability to completely portray multiple personalities that makes you really believe they’re living within one person. A+ for cast chemistry!
and the precursor to this drama is the chemistry Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum showcased in
Secret Love (2013)
Honestly it’s really a daytime drama. It’s really so dramatic. But the drama shined due to the main couple’s chemistry and the overall great drama acting of the whole cast
In the same year (2013) Lee Da Hee shined as an antagonist in Secret Love and
I Can Hear Your Voice
Really this drama would be the rise of Lee Jong Suk as a male lead. The drama had an amazing cast and just a good story. It’s drama, romance, supernatural, mystery, thriller.
But lee Jong suk’s true rise to fame started with the ever classic

Secret Garden (2010)

IDT anyone predicted how big this would be! the drama had such iconic scenes while still being the classic supernatural romance drama. The couples’ chemistry is the highlight of this drama
And now you can’t mention hyun bin without the ever iconic

Crash Landing On You

Who knew a north-south korean love story would be so enchanting? The chemistry between Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin is the highlight while the side characters are so cute you can’t help but love them
A drama I enjoyed of Ha Ji Won (of secret garden fame) is

The Time We Were Not In Love (2015)

Honestly it’s just a cute endearing story of love and you can’t help but cheer for the main couple ❤️
Another good ha ji won drama is

Chocolate (2019-2020)

It’s a super drama but I think I enjoy the love story and all the food scenes (she plays a chef!). I feel the main message is you can find healing from the difficulties of life with food ❤️
An amazing movie with the same message of finding healing through food is

Little Forest (2018)

It’s just a healing movie. I found healing through it and I’m sure you all will too
You can’t mention Kim Tae Ri without mentioning

Mr. Sunshine (2018)

Honestly a beautifully produced historical fiction romance/action drama about a period of time not usually highlighted. The acting is superb! ❤️ I would consider this a must-watch drama!
also it looks like I’ve decided to include asian movies as well as dramas in this thread
