It took me and my brother about a month to recover from COVID-19 fully. That recovery was no joke.

The worst part about it for me was definitely the uncertainty surrounding everything.
Going to the hospital and them telling you there’s nothing they can do for you but offer Inpatient Admission is rather scary to think about.

So we opted to recover at home. Which likely was the reason why it took us so long to recover!
Because Inpatient Admission to me meant VENTILATOR. And that’s what we were not about to do.

I lost at least 10 pounds while I was sick. Couldn’t eat shit. Literally was eating Mott’s Apple Sauce, oranges and drinking water.
We got sick a week after my Business Celebration back in February. That was around one of the biggest weekends of Mardi Gras. We were doing so much shit it was hard to see where we could have possibly gotten it from.
Which is why I say that about 90% of those who participated in Mardi Gras festivities this year were exposed to the virus!
Mardi Gras is a very intimate occasion.

Urgent Care turned us around when we first went and said they could not “serve our symptoms”
We went to the hospital and they didn’t have tests at the time. They only gave us chest x-rays, a test to see if we had the flu (similar to the test they’re giving now)

....and was offered IP admission after results came back.
They didn’t have any COVID-related testing at the time. On April 7, the doc who read the tests results called us and said based on info. he recently learned and looking back at our tests, that we needed antibody testing

Said that this was needed to ensure that we had it at the time and to see if we had antibodies to help fight the possibility of a re-infection.
We went to my aunt’s hospital in Baton Rouge to get an antibody test last Friday which confirmed the presence of it.

Luckily I was eating healthy right up until I got sick but was still drinking occasionally.
I suffered from constant headaches, sweats, I lost feeling in both of my legs below my knees. I could not walk up. Throwing up bile. Shit was crazy as hell. I had no fever but my bro did

The symptoms are different for people.
But if you were sick between November and February, then 8 times out of 10, you may have had the virus. Which is why the antibody testing is critical to know if you’ve had it in the past.
We good though. Shook back 100% on life

I turned my downstairs room into a gym and my living room to an office. I’m not popping back outside until I’m good and ready

Shoutout to @WakeWithMarley, too! The homie fasho.
Don’t think I would’ve gotten to the other side without utilizing most of what she does.

My aunt told me to think about this every time I eat:
“Every bite you take is either: fighting a disease or feeding it.”
That stuck with me!
