To inform national efforts in response to #COVID19, an updated protocol, a new evidence summary and a new public health guidance database have been published by my @HIQA HTA/HIS colleagues today

The evidence summary details what clinical samples and collection sites are suitable for SARS-CoV-2 testing in individuals who have COVID-19

Main finding: The level of evidence on clinical samples and collection sites suitable for SARS-CoV-2 testing overall is low. The limited number of case series identified mainly included patients with lab-confirmed COVID-19 using oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs

The updated protocol outlines the search methodology and the 8 review questions that we have completed and/or are currently updating

Finally the COVID-19 Public Health Guidance Database is a very useful database of guidance documents produced by international organisations, and is regularly updated by our team.

Keep an eye on the website for more updates
