Medical Defence Union advises that doctors should not withdraw life-saving treatment that is in the patient’s interests unless the Court of Protection first rules that this is lawful. NHS trust should make emergency application to Court. https://bit.ly/3em52SR 
The consensus of the lawyers here seems to be that the CoP has no jurisdiction to do anything that is NOT in accordance with that it considers to be in the patient's best interests - see s1(5) of Mental Capacity Act 2005.
