A break from Covid to gove my thoughts on the current squad and what we should do if/when things get back to normal

Leno - Has been criticized for occasional mistakes and not being commanding on crosses. However he more than makes up for this in his incredible shot stopping and
saved us many times last season. He'll only get better. - Keep

Martinez - A solid backup. He started the season looking like he could challenge Leno and appearing superior on crosses. He then had a big drop off in form. Keep but equally happy to replace if he wants to leave.
Tierney - Showed some very promising signs with excellent crossing, commitment and speed. Was exposed a few times positionally but Arteta and the coaching staff will no doubt fix that - Keep

Mari - Very promising early signs, calm accurate left footed distribution and commanding
in the air. Small sample size but also performed well against Liverpool for Corinthinans - Keep

Luiz - Transformed under Arteta. Went from feckless shirt puller to the leader of the team, dominant in the air and a deep lying playmaker - Keep
Saliba - All signs point to a world class future both defensively and starting attacks from deep - Keep

Sokratis - Committed and a fighter but nowhere near good enough on the ball and makes reckless fouls and mistakes - Sell
Mustafi - Good passer and good in the air but makes far too many mistakes. He can play well for 90% of the time but always has a game losing mistake in him - Sell

Holding - Showed early promise but has been inconsistent. Has looked very shaky mentally since returning.
That's understandable. On the fence about him. Deserves a chance to prove himself but if a replacement was ready I'd pull the trigger. Sorry Rob.

Chambers - I really like him. Can cover in 3 positions and always gives 100%. Like Holding I'm on the fence. If there was a suitable
replacement I'd go for it but if not he's a handy utility man.

Bellerin - Unfortunately he's just not the same athlete he was a few years ago. Whether that's down to his diet we'll never know for sure but the timing of his decline certainly correlates. Sell and upgrade.
Soares - We haven't seen what he can do yet. Can cover both sides and I saw he made the EPL 11 for most distance covered. - Keep

AMN - Can cover RB, DM and CM - Excellent athlete, quick feet and a good passer. Has all the tools but something is going on behind the scenes - Keep
Torreira - I love his spirit. We look so weak and exposed without him. However he's not a complete CM because his offensive game is lacking. - Sell but only if we get a first class replacement like Partey.

Willock - Early promise and excellent athlete but I worry about his
decision making in the final third and his willingness to track back. He's so young so keep him but he must improve to make the grade.

Xhaka - Accurate passer from deep but so limited in all other aspects of midfield play and leaves us exposed and can't connect to attack. Sell
Guendouzi - Elite mentality, doesn't feel fear, good passer. Also seems to be improving his strength. Far from the finished product though. Needs to release quicker, has improved his defence but still needs to track back more. Keep unless we get a big offer from France
Ozil - Last year of contract, best control, vision and decision making at club. Done well since coming back. Will thrive with some mobile and intelligent creators around him e.g Santi. Always creates most chances every year but creates more chances when team is better - Keep
ESR - Looks like a serious talent. A year understudying Ozil and playing in the EL will do him good could be the answer when Ozil moves on.

Nelson - Had a shaky start to the season but came into his own towards the end. Willing to work hard with good vision and technique - Keep
Saka - Thrives at either LB or LW. Supreme confidence, technique, athleticism and intelligence - obvious keep.

Martinelli - Another obvious Keep. Dynamo in the Alexis mould. Rapid, tenacious and an excellent finisher. Can be inconsistent like all youth but has potential to be WC
Auba - Our guaranteed source of goals and our talisman. I don't see him as a CF I think we lose our structure when we try to make him a target man. Keep if we can because those goals are hard to replace.

Nketiah - Keep because he's young, athletic and a great finisher but needs
to work very hard in his development because Balogun and TJJ are coming up who both look outstanding. Needs to improve his CF play and impose himself more.

Laca - Difficult because he carried us with Auba in 18/19. In 19/20 he fell of a cliff due to mental or physical health?
Arteta will have to analyse how he is in training and whether he's back to his old self. If he's back to himself keep him but if he continues on 19/20 trajectory we need to sell and replace. Very sad because he was such a hero in 18/19. I hope he can get it back.
Pepe - WC potential, elite dribbling and striking. Needs to make off the ball runs, be more aware of others and release quicker and he will really take off. If we replace Xhaka with an athletic CM who can cover and replace Bellerin with an overlapping RB, Pepe will be unlocked
Forgot Kolasinac - He can do a job of sorts going forward but is hugely overpaid and too much of a defensive liability. - Sell

So that's everyone. For the record I think our biggest priority is getting a complete CM who we can both trust defensively but who can burst forward too
