stuff i see teenage girls post on tiktok about body image is really worrying and the fact that i never see this content from boys is so telling
examples of posts that regularly pop up:

- checking your 'back profile' (another invented ideal to make girls insecure)

there is the odd positive post particularly from non white girls and women about appreciating their non eurocentric facial features but even this trend was quickly made fun of in the way that negative trends aren't
thankfully i'm more confident than i was when i was around 13-15 but at the big age of 20 i keep noticing these things pop up in my head and i can't imagine how damaging it is for some girls
it really drives home the ideal of looking like a white barbie doll with a few features 'borrowed' from other ethnicities with a skinny yet sexualised body love that for my girlies
i see the value in joking about not having the ideal body type in some posts but at the end of the day we're all just clowns driving home to our peers that if they have the same 'ugly' features as us they're not pretty either aren't we
