Earlier this month, the Scottish Government published its analysis of the responses it received to its consultation on the implementation of the Gender Representation on Public Boards Act 2018. You can read the response WPUK submitted here: https://womansplaceuk.org/wpuk-submission-to-scottish-government-implementation-of-gender-representation-on-public-boards-scotland-act-2018/">https://womansplaceuk.org/wpuk-subm...
It seems that many respondents expressed the same concerns, namely the fact that the definition of a & #39;woman& #39; in the Act departs from the definition of & #39;woman& #39; in the Equality Act 2010 (that is & #39;a female of any age& #39;)
"These concerns were highlighted in a Scotsman article by @wornoutmumhack https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/concerns-raised-over-scottish-governments-definition-word-woman-1411014?fbclid=IwAR0N0YqjsrIUgnz4cxPVBwzIjCZY-FePSM7HTem62qCLttIXbqYIK5edxcs">https://www.scotsman.com/news/poli...
As far as we understand, there has been no formal response from the Scottish Government to the concerns raised as part of the consultation.
