I’m really concerned that this gvmt campaign re: domestic violence is giving out incorrect info? I’ve read at least two threads on here explaining how the “silent solution” works and it’s not quite as simple as just pressing 55 after dialling 999.
You’d think the government would have checked something like that before making it the focus of a massive public awareness campaign, right?
AFAIK you need to dial 999, make some kind of deliberate sound (a cough, tapping the phone etc) when it’s answered, and *then* press 55 when prompted.
