I’m not going to lie. I abhor the Saudi regime. Their record on human rights is abysmal and they carved up a journalist who criticised them. I would much rather #nufc be owned by someone with Jeff Bezos’ bank account & Mother Teresa’s morals. But that isn’t going to happen. 1/

If the last 13 years have taught us anything it’s that, as fans, we have no control over who owns #NUFC
Where were the hand-wringing journalists when Ashley renamed St James’ Park the Sports Direct Arena?
Where were their howls of outrage when he pocketed £33m of transfer cash?

Where were these concerned reporters when he stole the club’s merchandising operation for Sports Direct?
What did they say about him doubling the club’s debt and insisting any money he invested in the club was just a loan?
What about selling off land where SJP could be expanded?

If they were so concerned about ethics, why didn’t they speak up about having a payday loan company as a shirt sponsor in one of England’s poorest cities?
What did we get with these and many more? I’ll tell you what we got:

And I won’t even go into what has happened on the pitch in the last 13 years...
The reality is that with a few exceptions, the national press has not given a fuck about what’s been happening at #nufc since Ashley took over & their latter day “concern” is just a stick to beat us

So forgive me if I don’t take all your moral outrage at face value. If you really want to help #nufc then you should have spoken up during the last 13 years because it’s too late now.
You’ve lost your right to tell us what to do and what to think.
