Having seemingly recovered from the 'rona, my London bro-in-law is now in hospital having suffered a series of mini-strokes that doctors believe to have been brought on by the virus - this is really fucking hellish. Those NZ Plan B people can fuck right off along with BoJo tbh.

One of my other London friends has been told by doctors she likely had it too, but only had gastrointestinal symptoms. The rare case where the TP hoarding would have paid off. There's no testing, she'd been going to the supermarket etc during the entire symptomatic period.

Husband has two friends whose close relatives have died, one just in their 30s.

Anyone in NZ who has spent time living in London or still has family there will have these stories. It's unbelievably fucked. Gio knows the score too re: Italy. I honestly can't relate to those who think we can just lift controls & be unaffected.

Asymptomatic spread, unusual symptoms that are nonetheless symptoms, the dimensions of these things were unknown to start with and the more we know, the worse it gets because the scope, lag and range of this thing is really long and wide.
