#EndClassesNowFEU
Your student body administered a whole effing survey and drafted a letter -- rather, an appeal -- for you to even consider having just a little bit of concern for your students, but did you? Yes, let's say that in terms of Internet connection, a lot have --
-- access, pero will that suffice for whatever the faculty (or the school itself) is demanding from the students? Okay, sige. NakakapagFacebook and Twitter ang mga estudyante niyo, pero Internet connection lang ba ang kailangan ng mga estudyante?
The reason persists since the first time the extension/cancellation of deadlines were first appealed, bakit hanggang ngayon, you're labelling these circumstances caused by the pandemic as "the new normal"? This isn't normal at all. We will not succumb and make ourselves --
victims of these circumstances. Not by a bit. There are some students who rely on mobile data for their Internet services, not WiFi, and they do not necessarily own a laptop to work on these outputs. They can't go to the computer shops because hindi naman lahat may quarantine --
pass and computer shops are prohibited to open due to health risks posed by the pandemic. Now, tell us if we're entitled to ask for this. Isn't this motion a bit anti-poor, FEU? It's a socioeconomic struggle as it is an academic one.
Second of all, isn't having a conducive environment for learning a must to ensure quality education AND quality output from the students? Don't you realize that not everyone in their house is "safe" because not every house is a home?
Third, even the livelihood of each family is challenged during these troubled times. Wala na ngang makain yung mga tao, people are literally susceptible in their own homes, and you're asking us to fulfill deadlines? Is that reasonable?
Lastly, let's face it, online classes are ineffective. The purpose of the academe is to educate students and equip them with knowledge and skills for their future endeavors. Now, --
ask your students if they learned a single thing since the implementation of the ECQ and the online classes. Makinig kayo sa hinanaing ng mga estudyante niyo.
This uproar is not caused by mere manifestations of laziness or the like. This is about caring for the well-being of the students, your ACTUAL stakeholders. If this is your strategy to not refund the tuition fees, you're in for a ride, 'cause you're gonna lose --
a lot of students AND potential enrollees for the next semester because of that very reason. FEU taught us to battle for the right and be brave: now, we are. #EndClassesNowFEU #EndTheSem
