I can definitely tell u that as someone that went to dual language public primary school and an afrikaans public high school...The afrikaaners are defos getting a better quality of education, teaching, facilities, the works...
I remember my school principal made a passing comment about the fact that because we are a previously advantaged school, we get less money from government.
Yet the quality of EVERYTHING in that school was excellent. Why? Most of the businesses (mostly owned by parents) in that area sponsored the school. The parents were able to come assist in most if not all drives and events. They also donated from their own pockets
The teachers were so well paid, they were not under any union (their own words)...even during those hectic SADTU strikes ...our school was not affected, and teachers were happy to come to work....
Another advantage is that in both sports and culture, we competed with both public and private schools (I have no idea how...don’t ask)
