I’ve done a fair bit in security, whether its building SOCs, running Cyber, working as a CISO, but it is always with a clear focus on the business and customer (of security) first. Founded on a true understanding of actual risk management.

Business first, everything else second.

I’m very much a champion of collaboration across teams and disciplines. I will drive process and people optimisation rather than just technology, which without the former is simply a wasted spend. I’m also all about transparent metrics to support and explain decision making.

I’m a public speaker and regularly published.

Recently I’ve provided lots of practical insight to other security vendors about the actual (not theoretical) issues faced by CISOs and how they can shape offerings and develop their solutions to match.

I have built security solutions, ran Startups, been a cog in the enterprise wheel and been an external consultant.

One thing I’m not is a shrinking violet. I’m forthright, empathetic, challenging and collaborative. I get results, in the right way. The right way matters!

I’ve won several awards (that I didn't pay for) and hold most of the security certifications out there.

I bring with me a wealth of experience, a huge dose of pragmatism, a business focus and a few tools and tricks to deliver tangible improvements to any organisation.
