I’m so upset about the Māori Party co-leadership. Was really looking forward to seeing the Māori Party returned to Parliament this election, but with JT there I can’t in good conscience even split my vote. How is a rape apologist & animal abuser* meant to represent our people?

I’m done with our people being “led” by toxic masculinity and this old boy’s club which perpetuates recolonisation of our people and harms our wāhine, takatāpui, tangata whaikaha whānau, not to mention marginalised tauiwi in Aotearoa.

I have always been impressed by the mahi of Waipareira, but how long is JT going to be able to milk that positive contribution while continuing to harm the most at risk in our communities?
